Obituary for June Dawson Svedberg

June Dawson Svedberg went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was born at Sullivan’s Island, SC to her parents Mary Margarite Baker Dawson and Harry Eton Dawson on June 23, 1918. June was married to William Erik Svedberg (deceased) and had three children, William Erik Svedberg, Jr (deceased) and wife, Sue; Jon Chris Svedberg Dusterhoft (Ron), and Vikky Lynn Svedberg Ferris.
June worked at Dawson Lumber Company until she retired in 1987. She traveled to Europe, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and China. She also had a wonderful trip to Alaska with her two brothers and their wives. She had an insatiable desire for knowledge and read widely. The greatest experience of June’s life was when she met the Lord Jesus in 1968. From that day she was filled joy and an abounding love for everyone.
She was instrumental in the founding of Helping Hands of Georgetown. She, along with Mrs. Weazie Ford founded “Keep Georgetown Beautiful.” For years June dressed up as Mother Nature and visited the Elementary Schools to teach them about how to prevent litter.
For 15 years every Saturday June delivered 40 meals to those who were shut in. She not only fed them, but she took time to listen and pray for them. She was always looking for an opportunity to show the love of Christ, even up until the week that she died.
June leaves 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
