Obituary for Franklin Delano Lambert

Georgetown:
Franklin Delano Lambert, 78, husband of Wilmer Inez Pope Lambert, died Monday, June 10, 2019, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Lambert was born in Georgetown on September 19, 1940, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin “Bennie” Lambert and Pearline Lambert. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Lambert had a four year welding apprenticeship and was employed by the Charleston Naval Shipyard for many years. He helped build and install the large gates and fencing for the Charleston Naval Hospital. Mr. Lambert later worked for the International Paper Company in maintenance until retirement, and was a member of Quarter Century Club. He was a dedicated member of the Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a former deacon, served as an usher, a member of the adult Sunday School Class, the Silver Saints and Smiling Saints Club, and the Men’s Fellowship. He had a great love for camping in the Great Smoky Mountains and was an avid animal lover. Mr. Lambert loved working on cars and enjoyed woodworking. He was a loving husband, father and PaPa. Del and Inez would have been married sixty years on July 22.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lambert was predeceased by: two brothers, Roland Hamilton Lambert and Benjamin “Buddy” Lambert and two sisters, Myrtis L. Wilson and Johnnie L. Johnson.
Surviving are: his wife of Georgetown; three daughters, Renee Matthews (Pat), Dee Dee Parker (Greg) and Stephanie Owens (Jimmy); a son, Frank Lambert, Jr. (Ann); eight grandchildren, Mandy Owens (Ryan), Jimmy Owens, Jr. (Krystal), Brandon Parker (Kristen), Laura Ammons (Ryan), Cody Lambert (K-Lee), Ryan Lambert, Sarah Parker and Claire Lambert; four great-grandchildren, Emma Owens, Bella Collins, Scarlet Owens and Pearl Owens; and five honorary grands, Randall Christainson, Dalton Jewell, Patrick Ray, Matthew Ray and Jackson Cagle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be two o’clock, Thursday June 13, 2019, at the Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Greg Thompson and David Poston. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Annex.
The family will receive friends Thursday June 13, 2019, at the church from one until two o’clock.
