Obituary

Georgetown: Adolph "Dock" Norris, 69, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Tideland Community Hospice House. Mr. Norris was born in Tabor City, N. C. on August 20, 1939, a son of Gertha Norris and the late Earl Norris. He grew up in Tabor City and moved to Charlotte, N. C. as a young man. Mr. Norris moved to Georgetown in 1983 and was owner of Norris Electrical until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of First Assembly of God. Mr. Norris was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are: his wife, Judy Best Norris of Georgetown; three daughters, Shelia Norris of Ormond Beach, Fla., Beth Norris of Georgetown, and Renee' (Joey) Hewitt of Chula Vista, Calif.; his mother of Georgetown; a brother, Ed (Nancy) Norris of Georgetown; two sisters, Hazel Norris of Georgetown and Barbara (Tony) Hunt of Laurinburg, N. C.; two grandchildren, SSG Brandon Mau of Ft. Riley, Kan. and Bethany Hewitt of Chula Vista, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, December 2, 2008 at First Assembly of God. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Bradley Morris, the Rev. Ken Martin, and the Rev. Sammy Case. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
