McClellanville:
Ann McClellan Gilliam, 68, widow of Virgil Lee Gilliam, died Friday, September 23, 2011, at Roper Hospital in Charleston.
Mrs. Gilliam was born in Charleston on May 31, 1943, a daughter of the late Rev. James O. McClellan, Jr. and Ruby Seigler McClellan. She graduated from Spartanburg Methodist College and earned a B. A. degree from Newberry College. Mrs. Gilliam was employed for more than 20 years as a house parent for Boys Farm of Newberry, a home for boys from broken homes. In 2004, she moved back to McClellanville and was employed as an associate and Bridal Consultant of Belk in Georgetown.
Mrs. Gilliam was a member of McClellanville United Methodist Church and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Surviving are: a son, Travis Gilliam (Karla) of Silverstreet; a daughter, Dianna M. Bush of Newbery: two brothers, James O. McClellan, III of McClellanville and John S. McClellan of Georgetown; two sisters, Wilhelmina M. Couch of McClellanville and Susan M. Kobrovsky of Sullivans Island; four grandchildren, Jimmy and Tiffany Bush and Christian and Cassie Gilliam; and a great-grandchild, Jaydem Gardner.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Monday morning, September 26, 2011 at McClellanville United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jimmy Harper. Burial will be eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, September 27, 2011 at Rosemont Cemetery in Newberry. Officiating will be the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2011 from five until seven and at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home in Newberry Monday evening, September 26, 2011 from six until eight.
