Andrews:
Ann Asendorf Harper, 91, widow of Samuel Montgomery Harper, and beloved mother of seven passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013.
Ann was born July 20, 1921, in Savannah, Ga., daughter of John Martin and Virginia Elizabeth Smith. She was a life-long Catholic and a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Georgetown.
Ann was a homemaker extraordinaire, known for her caramel and jelly cakes. She provided a dish or cake for numerous events in Andrews. She was an avid Clemson fan loving nothing better than providing a tailgate and having all of her family and friends around her.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Sanders and husband David of Florence, and Clara Sneed of Florida; three sons, Samuel John Harper and his wife Karin, David McQueen Harper and wife Tina of Andrews, and Martin Montgomery Harper and wife Linda of Georgetown; and her daughter-in-law Marsha Harper of Greenville.
She is also survived by: five granddaughters, Kathryn "Kayce" and husband Donald of Greenville, Lindsay Moore and husband Chris of Georgetown, Carrie Ann Sneed of Florida, and Tracy and Claire Harper of Andrews; nine grandsons, Samuel Stephen Harper and wife Lori of Andrews, Philip A. Harper and wife Maggie of Kingstree, Harper Sneed and wife Lenae, Francis Sneed and wife Julie of Atlanta, Ga., Miller Harper and wife Shipley of Mt. Pleasant, Andrew Harper of Charleston, Penn Sanders and wife Christy of Greenville, McIver Sanders of Florence, and Samuel Sanders of Clemson; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband of 59 years, she was preceded in death by: two sons, Walter James and Donald Asendorf Harper; and one sister, Betty Ann Anderson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, from six until eight o'clock at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church at eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, February 6, 2013, followed by interment in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
