Georgetown:
Ann Wells Massengill-Evans, 67, died Friday, April 20, 2012, in Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Ann was born in Durham, NC on September 9, 1944, a daughter of the late Dr. Paul Robinson Massengill and Lila Pauline Wells Massengill. She grew up in Greenwood and was an honor student at Greenwood High School and National Merit Scholar finalist. Ann attended Erskine College on an academic scholarship and graduated from Lander College (University) in Greenwood. She lived in Columbia for a time prior to moving to Georgetown.
Ann was a member of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church.
In addition to her parents Ann was predeceased by: her beloved son, Mike Tuck.
Surviving are: her loving husband, John Leslie Evans of Georgetown; a sister, Libby M. Bannister (Dr. Brooks) of Hartsville; two brothers, Paul R. Massengill, Jr. (Lynne) of Easley and C. Wells Massengill (Ceres) of Greenwood; a step-son, Jim Sughrue of Raleigh, N. C.; two step-daughters, Heather Sughrue Yates of Taylors and Vanessa Evans Sharon of Florida; a step-grandchildren, Emma Yates; six nephews, C. Brooks Bannister, Jr., Paul R. Massengill, III, Scott Massengill, Will Massengill, Nate Massengill, and Taylor Dalton; four nieces, Elizabeth Bannister Thompson, Laura Bannister King, Carrie Massengill Frost, and Lauren Dalton; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family wishes thanks to special friends, Cythia Eargle and Les Cotton of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2012 at the graveside in Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Greenwood. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener.
