Anne Thomas Hoile, 72, died peacefully at her home in Pawleys Island, SC on April 21st, with her husband and both children by her side.
Anne wants to be remembered as a caring mother and grandmother, an avid tennis player and book reader, and lover of the beauty of South Carolina, especially the beaches. Anne was also a devoted soccer fan. She served as president of the Greensboro Youth Soccer Association and was a United States Soccer Federation certified referee. Before moving to Pawleys Island in 2012, she was a senior litigation paralegal with Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP in Greensboro, NC.
A lifelong Episcopalian, Anne served several parishes in various capacities including Alter Guild, Episcopal Church Women, and volunteer receptionist. Locally she chose to work with other church members for the Family Justice Center in Georgetown.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Keith Hoile; her mother, Patricia Thomas of Melbourne Beach, FL; her brother Charles Thomas and his wife Jennifer of Arlington, VA; her daughter Yvonne Horner and her husband Martin and children Andrew Berry and Kathleen Horner of Greensboro, NC; and her son Jack Hoile and wife Pamela and their children Abigail and Isiah of Cary, NC.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, 113 Baskervill Drive in Pawleys Island on Friday, April 28 at 2:00 in the afternoon. A celebration of Anne's life will follow the service at the church.
