Anne McElheron, 81, of Pawleys Island, SC, passed away on October 17, 2024. Anne was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved to the United States in 1960. Anne dedicated many years of her life to the Forest Manor Retirement Center, where her caring nature found a professional expression. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her career, as she fostered and adopted countless pets throughout her life. She was also an avid traveler, visiting countries all across the globe.

Anne is survived by her siblings Margaret, Ina, and Monica, her children Thomas, Andrea, Michael (Jenni), and Paul (Kara), and her grandsons, Michael, Jr., Daniel, and Stuart. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Gilroy Sweeney.

Anne's life was marked by her profound dedication to both her family and her community, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. There's an old phrase that goes "A stranger is just a friend you haven't met." To Anne McElheron, not only was that phrase true, but more often than not, that stranger felt like family after meeting her. Her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
