Pawleys Island:
Arthur Buel Ford, Jr., 95, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
Mr. Ford was born in Hennepin, Ill. on October 14, 1915, a son of the late Arthur Buel Ford, Sr. and Belva Mae Boyle Ford. He spent his young life in Hennepin and was a graduate of Barberton High School in Barberton, Oh. Mr. Ford retired after forty-two years employment with Knapp Foundry in Akron, Oh. He was a member of Broadcreek Christian Church in New Bern, N. C.
Mr. Ford was predeceased by: his first wife, Lois Frase Ford; and his second wife, Virginia Burton Ford.
Surviving are: his wife, Odessa Lupton Ford of Aurora, N. C.; two sons, Arthur D. Ford of Benton Harbor, Mich. and Robert A. Ford of Pawleys Island; a daughter, Belva Mae Ford Owen of Elmira, N. Y.; three step-sons, William Watson, John Watson, and Robert Watson; two step-daughters, Libby Litchfield and Joyce Rice; four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; and sixteen step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Friday afternoon, December 31, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted. A. Sherrill. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary immediately following the service.
