Baran Leggette Young, Sr. 53, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Medical University Hospital of Charleston.
Mr. Young was born in Georgetown on February 1, 1969, a son of the late Jacob Mathais Young, Jr. and Betty Lou Johnson Young. Baran grew up in the Carvers Bay Community of Georgetown County and graduated from Pleasant High School. Mr. Young was a member of New Zion Holiness Church. He love to hunt with his Dad and was also an avid Gamecock fan. Along with so many things that was dear to Baran was his love for cooking, watching the "Golden Girls" and his great love for animals. Baran took every opportunity to get in the yard and work with his plants, yard work was an escape from the world around him. He loved everyone and they loved him, he was also a loving father, grandfather and friend.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was predeceased by: his paternal grandparents, Jacob and Janie Young and maternal grandparents, Richard and Pauline Johnson and a wonderful Great-aunt, Aerie Roberts.
Surviving are: a daughter, Elizabeth Young of Conway; two sons. Baran Young, Jr. and Brandon McGee both of Tuberville; four grandchildren, Jacob, Coker, Colton and Waylon; five siblings, Cecil Young of Hemingway, Rodney Young of Johnsonville, LaWayne Young (Ashley) of Georgetown, Jacob Young and Bobby Young (Karson) both Gainesville, GA; a loving aunt, Gloria Tanner of Hemingway; two special friends, Thomas Waters and Joshua Cooper and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be four o'clock Friday, October 14, 2022, at New . Zion Holiness Church, 819 Squirrel Run Rd., Hemingway, SC. Officiating will be the Pastor Jack Todd.
