Barbara Amann Dumm, 74, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Staten Island, NY, a daughter of the late George H. Amann and Zion (Joseph) Amann.

She was a long-time member of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Georgetown, where she was a former officer of the Altar Society and Women's Club. St. Mary's once named her their Woman of the Year.

B, or Bebe, as she was lovingly called by her grandchildren, was a retired dental hygienist, employed for many years by Dr. Derrick Stalvey in Georgetown. After her retirement, she still worked part-time for several dentists in the area.

She is survived by her husband, James E. Dumm, Jr. of the home; one son, James E. "Jamie" Dumm, III of Johnsonville, and his children, Ana Margaret, Loraleigh, and Jamison; one daughter, Zion (Patrick) Doran of Kalamazoo, MI, and their children, Patrick Leo, Barbara Elizabeth, and Caroline; two brothers, Paul Amann and Anthony (Sherri) Amann; four sisters, Helen Amann, Mary Jo (Paul) Karre, Sarah (Eddie) Chiha, and Anne Amann; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Joseph Amann.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 PM Wednesday, October 4 St. Mary's Catholic Church in Georgetown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 5, also at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be private.

The Georgetown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
