Georgetown:
Barbara Cribb Howard, 63, died Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Howard was born in Andrews on February 19, 1944, a daughter of the late Willie Marvin Cribb and Bertha Lee Etheridge Cribb. She grew up in Georgetown and attended Winyah High School. Mrs. Howard worked on Front Street in Georgetown for many years and was currently an employee of Tomlinson's Department Store. She was a member of United Christian Outreach, where she served as church secretary and was a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Howard was predeceased by: her husband, H. Sherwood Howard; and a sister, Charlotte Neeley.
Surviving are: two daughters, Kathy Elliott Pope and her husband Charles and Tracy Elliott Norris, all of Georgetown; a granddaughter, Angela Pope Miller and her husband Nathan of Gainesville, Fla.; a grandson, Wesley Pope of Georgetown; two brothers, Willie Cribb and his wife Judy and Charles Cribb and his wife Beth, all of Georgetown; a sister, Faye Mercer and her husband Buddy of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock, Wednesday morning, January 30, 2008, at Screven Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Wayne Ellis and the Rev. Tim Crabtree. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
