Obituary

Georgetown: Barbara Fox Phillips, 85, widow of John Lewis Phillips, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Mrs. Phillips was born in Charleston on January 21, 1929, a daughter of the late Frank Hiram Fox and Reba Steadley McKnight Fox. She was active in the Cub Scouts and enjoyed her church and the many friends there. Mrs. Phillips was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving are: two sons, Mike Phillips (Linda) of Athens, Ga. and Mark Phillips (Debbie) of Leland, N.C.; two grandchildren, Adam Phillips and Mandi Selba; two step-grandchildren, Kelley and Thomas Rhea; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by four sisters, Frances, Reba, Winnie, and Nina. Graveside services will be held at eleven o'clock on Friday, June 27, 2014, at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, June 26, 2014, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Narthex from five until seven o'clock. Sign a guestbook at: www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
