Georgetown:
Basil Leon Lambert, 74, husband of Elizabeth R. Lambert, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Compass Post Acute Rehabilitation in Conway.
Mr. Lambert was born in Georgetown on October 3, 1942, a son of the late Fields Lambert and Lena Hartley Lambert. He attended Andrews High School and was a member of the Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. Mr. Lambert was owner and operator of Lambert Wood Products for most of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for the Sampit River. Mr. Lambert devoted so much of his time to his community as a helper and caregiver. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lambert was predeceased by: a sister, Vera Sanders Springs; and a granddaughter, Tabitha Hanna.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Raymond and Regan Lambert both of Georgetown; two daughters, Robin Lambert of Georgetown and Regina Yonke (Michael) of Moncks Corner; two brother, Charles Lambert and Fields "Bubba" Lambert, Jr. both of Georgetown; five sisters, Earnestine Bryant, Shirley Tyler, Vivian Bazen all of Georgetown; Nita Hanser of Pawleys Island, and Mary Ludie Tilton of North Carolina; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be at the graveside, two o'clock Saturday afternoon, October 15, 2016, at Sampit United Methodist Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Chris Browder and the Rev. Alton Johnson.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, October 14, 2016 from six until eight o'clock at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
