Georgetown: Beatrice "Bea" Berest Gershman, 89, died November 9, 2012, in Riviera Maya, Mexico while on vacation. Mrs. Gershman was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and grew up in Queens, N.Y., where she met her husband, Sheldon H. Gershman. She graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School in N.Y. and lived abroad for many years. Mrs. Gershman moved to Georgetown in 2007 and was a member of Temple Beth Elohim. Mrs. Gershman was a loving and supportive wife of 69 years and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a warm, kind, and caring friend to everyone. Most of all, Mrs. Gershman loved life, adventure, and people. In addition to her husband, Sheldon H. Gershman of Georgetown, Mrs. Gershman is survived by: two daughters, Elyse Lora Berger of Bayside, N.Y. and Michele Gershman-Bennett (James F.) of Briarwood, N.Y. and Georgetown; a grandson, Alexander J. Berger of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Chicago, Ill.; nieces and nephews, the Lichtenstein's of New York, N. Y.; and loving cousins, the Heiden's and the Drucker's of Kingstree and Florence. Memorial services will be held at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, November 14, 2012, at Temple Beth Elohim. Burial will follow at Temple Beth Elohim Cemetery.
