Georgetown: Myrtis Bernice Davis Martin, 94, widow of D. O. Martin, died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at her residence. Mrs. Martin was born in Georgetown November 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Thomas Ervin Davis and Isla Mae Blakley Davis. She and her husband were former owners of Convenient Grocery Store and Campus Corner Restaurant. Mrs. Martin was also employed at Georgetown Ice Company for many years. She attended First Assembly of God Church. Surviving are: a son, Daniel O. Martin, Jr. (Donna) of Georgetown; a daughter, Emily Faye Dickerson (Robert) of Elkhart, Indiana; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandson and one due in April. Mrs. Martin was also predeceased by four brothers and 6 sisters. Funeral services will be Monday morning, March 2, 2015, at eleven o'clock in First Assembly of God Church. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Hoskins. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary prior to the service from ten until eleven o'clock.
