Obituary

Georgetown: Berniece Lemons Wilcox, 101, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Georgetown Healthcare and Rehab. Mrs. Wilcox was born on June 12, 1908 in Washington Court House, Ohio, a daughter of the late Eddie Clark Lemons and Dessie Pearl Wolfe Lemons. She moved to Georgetown as a young woman and was a former seamstress and bookkeeper. Mrs. Wilcox later became a nurse's aide at Winyah Nursing Home. She was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Wilcox was a loving mother and grandmother, and her family was her life. Mrs. Wilcox was predeceased by: her husband, John K Wilcox; a son, Allen Dwight Wilcox; three sisters; and a brother. Surviving are: a son, Norman K Wilcox (Happy) of Georgetown; five grandsons, Allen D. Wilcox, Jr. of New York, John Kevin Wilcox (Meg) of Georgetown, William James Blakely Wilcox (Dawn) of Summerville, Norman Keith Wilcox (Glenn) of Georgetown, and Mark Pyatt Wilcox (Christina) of Charleston; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at four o'clock on Monday afternoon, May 24, 2010, at Elmwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen H. Wilkins and the Rev. Dr. William H. Puckett.
