Georgetown: Betty Jean Paige Barrett, 89, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at National Healthcare in Garden City. Mrs. Barrett was born August 15, 1931, in Memphis, TN, a daughter of the late Lottie Mae Richardson. Betty grew up in Georgetown and graduated Winyah High School. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. Mrs. Barrett worked for the Georgetown County Board of Education for over thirty-five years. She was great and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wonderful friend to all. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barrett was predeceased by a son, Michael Gregory Barrett. Surviving are: two daughters, Kathy Kelley (Edward) and Martha Williams (David); four grandchildren, Edward Kelley, III (Meredith), Betsy Thomas (Michael Paul), Michael Smith and Molly Miller; and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be eleven o'clock Monday morning, March 15, 2021, at First Baptist Church.
