Georgetown:

Betty Holiday Carter-Hart, 94, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2023, at her home in Georgetown.

Mrs. Hart was born in Elberton, GA on September 29, 1928, a daughter of the late William Pat Holliday and Audra Ulm Mize Holliday. She was a graduate of Winyah High School and was employed by SCN Bank/Wachovia, retiring as a branch manager.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown, where she enjoyed the fellowship and support of her Sunday School Class. Betty was known for her kindness and infectious laugh, and loving heart towards not only her beloved family, but everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Carter and second husband Raymond Hart.

She is survived by a son, Joseph "Joey" E. Carter, Jr. (Evie) daughters, Julie McLaughlin (Tom) and Candie Bruse (Chuck); Grandchildren, Thomas (Nicole), Cara and Kyle (Catherine); Great-grandchildren, Marley Rose, Stella, Michael, and August; brothers, William "Billy" Holliday (Grace) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be eleven o'clock Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. Burial will follow at two o'clock in Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home from ten until eleven o'clock.
