Andrews: Betty Lou Mercer Davis, 77, widower of Ervin "Gator" Davis, Jr., died Monday, February 5, 2017, at her residence. Mrs. Davis was born on January 25, 1941, a daughter of the late Dueward "Stuckey" Belmont Mercer and Neelie Elizabeth Bone Mercer. She grew up in the Sampit Community of Georgetown County and attended Oak Grove School. Mrs. Davis loved cooking and most of all fishing. She was known for her candy jar by her children and especially her grands. She was a loving wife, mother, grand-mother, sister and friend. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davis was predeceased by: a step-son, Ronald Aaron Davis. Surviving are: two sons, Tony Davis (Terri) and David "Monkey" Davis ( Teresa), both of Andrews; two daughters, Donna Cooper (John) and Denise Blakely ( Tim) both of Andrews; two step-daughters, Barbara Ann Demaskey (Robert) and Gloria Jean Cooper, one step-son, Ervin Oneal Davis (Cheryl); five sisters, Wanda Sue Mercer of Conway, Patricia Howard (Tommy), Helen Belcher, Sharon Pierce and Janette Miller all of Georgetown; two brothers, William "Tumpy" Mercer (Mildred) and Dueward "Buddy" Mercer both of Georgetown; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved dearly. Funeral Services will be at two o'clock Friday afternoon, February 9, 2018, at Earles Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Allen Ard and Mr. David McKenzie. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 8, 2018, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight o'clock.
