IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty
Ray
June 20, 1939 – November 21, 2023
Andrews, SC
Betty Jane Brantley Ray, 84 ,widow of Herman Francis Ray, Sr., died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at her residence. She was born June 20, 1939, at home in Trio of Williamsburg County. Ms. Ray was a daughter of the late Lorace Jim Brantley and Pearl Ward Brantley.
Betty had retired and enjoyed gardening and keeping her yard immaculate. She loved to ride her golf cart with her trusted companion, Gizmo and visit neighbors. She also enjoyed sunbathing and reading romance and thriller novels. Betty traveled biweekly to Mount Pleasant to assist her son with his businesses - one of which honored her dedication and services to him, Betty's Tires. She also tirelessly helped Theresa with her classroom supplies and decorations throughout the years. Lastly but certainly not least of all, Betty was an avid shopper at Belk and Hobby Lobby - number one on the 90% discounts aisle! Betty's greatest joy was worshipping God and loving the land she lived on.
She is survived by her son, Herman F. Ray, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant and daughter, Theresa A. Ray of James Island; one grandchild, Brittany R. Wilson (Kyle) of Mt. Pleasant; one surviving brother, Alvin Brantley (Laura) and one brother-in-law, Carl Ray.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Earl Bouchette, Jr.; and her siblings, Jimmie Faye Clemons, Robert Brantley, Lorace Brantley, and Denise Bouchette.
