Pawley's Island: Beverly Hampton Sawyer, Jr., 74, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Tidelands Community Hospice. Mr. Sawyer was born February 21, 1939 in Georgetown, a son of the late Beverly Hampton Sawyer and Emily Skinner Sawyer. He grew up in Georgetown, graduated from Winyah High School and East Carolina University. Mr. Sawyer served in the U. S. Army and the U. S. Navy. He spent the greater part of his life in Atlanta, Georgia and retired from sales. Mr. Sawyer returned home ten years ago to live in Pawley's Island. Surviving are: a son, O'Neal "Brock" Sawyer of Norcross, Ga.; and two grandsons, Devin Sawyer of Norcross, Ga. and David Sawyer of Nashville, Tenn. and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday morning, April 27, 2013, at eleven o'clock at the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery.
