Bobbie Jean Smith, 80, of Plantersville, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by loving family and friends. Born on July 5, 1943 in Horry County, SC, to the late Ed Harrelson and Fleetie Cribb.

Bobbie Jean Smith was a pillar to the community, she was lovingly called the "Mayor" or "Momma" of Plantersville by those who knew her. She owned Smith Country Store for many years. She loved to cook for others and made sure those who needed a meal were provided for. She cooked every day, if you were hungry, those in need knew where to go. She loved her community and helping others.

Bobbie Jean loved gardening, flowers and her farm animals. Years past she would raise Quail from hatchling for Quail hunts. Bobbie Jean's farm animals include Peacocks, Sheep, and Chickens. She loved to work in the garden, canning vegetables and Jelly.

Bobbie Jean is survived by three sisters; Jeanette Browder (Roland) of Georgetown, Marilyn Johnston of Conway, Connie Owens (Tommy) of Pleasant Hill, one son; Wayne Lowrimore of Plantersville, one daughter; Nancy Powell (Donnie) of Andrews, eight grandchildren; Jessica Wynn (Andrew) of Georgetown, Jessica Webber (Matthew) of Plantersville, Joanna Evans of Andrews, Abby Johnson (Tyler) of Jacksonville, NC., Jesse Smith Jr of Plantersville, Rhett Smith of Georgetown, Andrew Smith of New Hampshire, Reghan Smith of Boston and Dustin Powell of Andrews, Daughter In Law; Patty Smith of Georgetown, Sister In Law; Veldamae "Bootie" Smith of Georgetown, Peggy Smith of Andrews, Wilma Faye Smith of Andrews, seven great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

Bobbie Jean is predeceased by her husband Everette Smith Sr., three sons; Everette "Toogie" Smith Jr, Jessie Edward Smith Sr., and Michael Oneal Smith, eight brothers; Charles Edward Harrelson, Billy Joe Harrelson, Wallace "WG" Gleaton Johnson, Johnny Lavern Johnson, Jennings Bryant Johnson, Mack Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Larry Johnson and one sister; Debra Harrelson of Andrews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 3:00 PM at Mount Tabor Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to a Visitation Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mount Tabor Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements for the family.
