Andrews:
Bruce Dwight Wheeler, 67, husband of Kay Ethridge Wheeler passed away Monday morning, January 21, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Wheeler was born in Andrews on December 29, 1951, a son of the late William Pharow Wheeler and Louise Huggins Wheeler. He grew up in the Earle community of Williamsburg County and graduated from Williamsburg High School. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Earle United Methodist Church and a pillar of the community. He retired as a mechanic from Peddinghaus Ironworks.
Bruce and Kay were married for forty-seven years and the parents of two sons. He had a great love for farming, hunting and fishing. Bruce was a loving, caring, and devoted husband and father, but his greatest pride was being a granddaddy. He will surely be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wheeler is predeceased by; a brother, William Pharow "Bill" Wheeler.
Surviving are: his wife of Andrews; two sons, Bruce D. Wheeler, Jr. (Crystal) and William W. Wheeler (Bridget), both of Andrews; five grandchildren, Austin, Brycen, Walker, Owen, and Weston Wheeler; and three sisters, Helen W. Morris (Chris), Nanette W. Ward (Phillip) both
of Andrews; and Alice W. Watson (Tommy) of Georgetown.
Funeral Services will be two o'clock Wednesday, January 23, 2019, in Earle United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Arthur Vick and Rev. Ronnie Jackson.
Burial will follow Harmony Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 22, 2019, in the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight o'clock.
