Georgetown: Mrs. Bunky Kurtz, 75, died, Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the Doey's Hospice House. A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday, December 3, 2018 at Beth Elohim Cemetery in Georgetown, SC, with Rabbi Avi Perets officiating. A native of Georgetown, SC, she was the daughter and only child of the late Carroll Paul Abrams and the late Julia Abrams. She graduated from the University of South Caroline and settled into married life with her husband, Richard Kurtz of 55 years. Family was and remained the first priority in her life and she spent much of her spare time following in the footsteps of her mother by rescuing animals and trying to find them a home. Later in life she spent as much time as she could with her two grandchildren and traveling with her husband. Surviving are her son, David Kurtz of Charleston, her daughter-in-law, Priya Kurtz of Charleston, and two grandchildren, Adyson Kurtz and Connor Kurtz. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD. The Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home is also assisting with the graveside service.
