Obituary

Georgetown:
Burr H. Williams, 84, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Medical University Hospital of S. C. in Charleston.
Mr. Williams was born in Olean, N. Y. on September 8, 1920, a son of the late Fred Rockwell Williams and Hazel Belle Burr Williams. He grew up in West Clarksville, N.Y. and moved to Georgetown in 1939. Mr. Williams was employed by Bill Thomson Construction Co., when he first moved to Georgetown. He retired as Plant Manager of the Container Division of International Paper Company in 1982. During W. W. II, Mr. Williams participated in the development of containers used by the military during the War. He was a member of Winyah Lodge #40, Ancient Free Masons, The Pine Tree Club, and the Quarter Century Club.
Surviving are: his wife, Martha Felkel Williams of Georgetown; three daughters, Patricia Ann Williams of Tucson, Arizona, Rebecca Dukes of Franklin, N. C., and Laura Chalmers of North Augusta; six grandchildren, Paula Supina and Joye Nicole Matthews, both of Georgetown, Christopher Williams of Belmont, N. C., Holly Chalmers, Caroline Chalmers, and Olivia Chalmers, all of North Augusta; three great-grandchildren, Krissie Morris, Zachary Supina, and Sydney Grace Supina, all of Georgetown.
Mr. Williams was predeceased by a son, Ronald H. Williams.
Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon, May 17, 2005, at two o'clock in Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Leonhardt. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the residence Monday evening, May 16, 2005, from six until eight.
