Georgetown: Carl Leroy Morris 84, widower of Betty Harrell Morris, died Monday, August 17, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Morris was born on June 24, 1936, in the Pleasant Hill community of Georgetown County, a son of the late Robert Oliver Morris and Lucile Hanna Morris. He grew up in Pleasant Hill and graduated Pleasant Hill High School. Mr. Morris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown, and served as a deacon for many years, and was a faithful choir member. He was very proud to be a member Gideon's International for many years. Mr. Morris loved gardening, hunting and fishing when his health permitted. His passing was on his and Betty's sixty third wedding anniversary, and they celebrated it together. He will be missed by his family and all his friends. He is survived by: three sons, Richard Morris (Roberta), George Morris and Stephen Morris; a daughter, Melody Morris Walker (Chris); a sister, Jean Marion (John); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be one o'clock Thursday, August 20, 2020, in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted Sherril.
