Mt. Pleasant: Carol Mizell Hattaway, 65, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Hattaway was born in Harleyville on December 3, 1946, a daughter of Henry Mizell and the late Annie Bishop Mizell. She grew up in Harleyville and graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School. Mrs. Hattaway was a retired employee of Southern Bell Telephone Co. and a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a charter member of Providence Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hattaway was a caring Christian with a praying heart, a wonderful wife, a loving mom, a gracious grandmother, a supportive sister, and a forever friend. We will always love you. In addition to her father of Harleyville, surviving are: her husband, Kenneth E. Hattaway of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Catherine Hattaway (David Hawkins) of Summerville and Donna Bates (David) of Huger; six grandchildren, Aiden, Caleb, "Lil" Joshua, Jordan Leigh, "Big" Joshua, and Danielle; a brother, Jimmy Mizell; and four sisters, Kathy Woods, Gloria Walters, Lynn Christensen, and Rosie Mizell. Funeral services will be at two o'clock on Saturday afternoon, August 25, 2012, at McClellanville First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard Brown. Burial will follow at McClellanville First Baptist Church Memorial Gardens.
