Andrews: Caroline Viohl McConnell, 90, widow of William Holmes McConnell, Sr., died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown. Mrs. McConnell was born on June 26, 1921 in Charleston, a daughter of the late Henry Viohl and Meta Doscher Viohl. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in the Esther Elizabeth Circle of the UMC and Forever Young Group. Mrs. McConnell was a former member of Lutheran Church of Redeemers in Charleston. Surviving are: two daughters, Caroline Lewis (Al) of Andrews, and Betty M. Genutis (Tom) of Irmo; a son, William H. McConnell, Jr. (Cathy) of Austin, Tex.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McConnell was predeceased by one grandchild. Funeral services will be at eleven o'clock on Friday morning, November 4, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. David Marcy. Burial will follow at three o'clock at Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston.
