Caroline Harwell Murdock, 79, died Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, N. C.
Mrs. Murdock was born in Savannah, Ga. on December 3, 1927, a daughter of the late John Glover Harwell and Alma Rickenbaker Harwell. She grew up in Georgetown, where she lived for many years. Mrs. Murdock retired from AVX Corp. in Myrtle Beach. She was an active member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church until moving to live with her son in Spring Lake, N. C., where she attended Hollandale Advent Christian Church. Mrs. Murdock was the widow of James Oatman Murdock, Sr.
Surviving are: three sons, Jim Murdock of Holiday, Fla., Bill Murdock of Murrells Inlet, and Michael E. Murdock, Sr. of Spring Lake, N. C.; a daughter, Brenda M. Parker of Greer; four sisters, Hilda Anderson of Georgetown, Ruth Thames of Awendaw, Mildred Stallings of Bladenboro, N. C., and Jean Thames of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be two-thirty o'clock Wednesday afternoon, August 22, 2007, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Clide Glover, the Rev. Wyatt Cook, and the Rev. Randy Thames. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Tuesday evening, August 21, 2007 from six until eight.
