Carolyn W. Fae Lightsey, wife of William G "Squiz" Lightsey Jr., passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Thunderbolt Transition Care & Rehabilitation in Savannah, GA.
She was born in Conway Hospital on February 2, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Harold Willams and the late Velma Willams. She was raised in Murrells Inlet and spent her life in Georgetown. Later on, she moved to Georgia.
Mrs. Lightsey and her late husband were high school sweethearts who found their way back to each other later in life, and she loved Squiz dearly. Mrs. and Mr. Lightsey were married for 35 years. Mrs. Lightsey and her late husband were blessed by wonderful neighbors along the way.
Mrs. Lightsey was employed at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Winyah Nursing Home for many years as a nurse. She loved taking care of and helping others, and spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed watching the QVC channel and the church channels. Mrs. Lightsey was a Christian lady who loved the Lord. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church.
Mrs. Lightsey had a heart of gold. She was affectionately called Grandma by all of her daughter's friends and her grandchildren's friends. Her love for her friends and family will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children; Wanda Prince of Conway, Laura Jenkins (David) of Columbia, Katherine Angell (Dan) of Greer, grandchildren; Lilly Jenkins and Faulkner Jenkins of Columbia, Taylor Prince (Rebecca Andrews) of Hinesville, GA, and Kayla Prince of Conway, great grandchildren; KJ Prince and Jaxson Prince of Hinesville, GA, Colby Prince and Kyrstin Prince of Darlington, one sister Brenda Altman of Lancaster, one special great aunt Loriane Rowe of Murrells Inlet and one special uncle Max McDowell of Garden City, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kara-Lee Fae Davis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
