Murrells Inlet: Catherine E. Thomas, 90, died Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Agape Senior Garden City. Catherine was born in Union on June 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Rosco Thomas and Mellie C. Sullivan Thomas. She lived in Spartanburg for many years prior to moving to Pawleys Island and later to Murrells Inlet. She was a retired employee of Spartan Mills. Surviving are: a daughter, Carolynn Sauls (Aubrey P.) of Pawleys Island; two grandsons, Kyle B Mathis (Charlotte) of Boiling Springs and Dr. Kerrick Mathis of Myrtle Beach; and two great-grandsons, Griffin and Joshua Mathis of Boiling Springs.
