Georgetown: Cecelia Loretta Elliott Figgins, 90, widow of Fielden Lawrence Figgins, died Sunday, August 12, 2012, at NHC Healthcare in Garden City. Mrs. Figgins was born in Andrews on August 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Johnnie Samuel Elliott and Janie McCants Elliott. She obtained an associate's degree in business school and worked for the City of Georgetown for many years. Mrs. Figgins was active in the Platt-Esther Fidelis Sunday School Class at Georgetown First Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 50 years. Surviving are: a son, Mitchell Figgins (Kathie) of Summerville; two daughters, Anna F. McCutchen and Linda F. Davis (Benjamin M.), both of Georgetown; a brother, John S. Elliott (Mary Bell) of Andrews; four grandchildren, Katherine Plowden, Scott McCutchen, Elizabeth Kostos, and Emily Michel; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at three o'clock on Thursday afternoon, August 16, 2012, at Georgetown First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from two until three o'clock at the church.
