Georgetown:
Charles Carter Elliott, Sr., 77, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mr. Elliott was born in Hemingway on September 30, 1939, a son of the late Robert Lee Elliott and Mary Leonard Carter Elliott. He grew up in Pleasant Hill and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School and Newberry College. Mr. Elliott earned a Master's Degree in Banking from Louisiana State University. He retired as a bank executive, after 33 years, with South Carolina National Bank. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and farming. Mr. Elliott was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: his wife, Gale Curtis Elliott of Georgetown; two sons, Charles Carter Elliott, Jr. (Keely) of Georgetown and Dr. Christopher Curtis Elliott (Jennifer) of Greenville; three brothers, Robert Leonard Elliott of Hemingway, Larry Allen Elliott of Pawleys Island, and Bucky Wendell Elliott of Lake Lure, N. C. ; two sisters, Betty Sue McAlister and Mary Lee Phillips, both of Hemingway; five grandchildren, Abbiegail Grace Elliott, Sophie Elizabeth Elliott, Charles Carter Elliott, III, Wilder Harrison Elliott, and Wyatt Hampton Elliott.
