Charles Raymond Freyer, Jr.

Charles Raymond “Chuck” Freyer Jr., of Georgetown, South Carolina, passed away at the age of 61 on July 27, 2026.

Born on August 29, 1964, in Georgetown, SC, Chuck was the beloved son of Charles Raymond Freyer Sr. and Illa Mae Allen Freyer.

Chuck graduated from Winyah High School, Class of 1982. He then attended Coastal Carolina University with studies in computer science. He worked and retired with International Paper Company. Chuck enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Chuck would hunt at Backwoods Quail Club. He went on many trips to the Dakotas, Texas, and Arkansas to hunt ducks. Fishing was one of the things he liked to do as well; he knew all the best fishing holes in Winyah Bay.

He was a simple man with a gentle soul. He loved his family and friends and will be missed by those who knew him.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Melissa Freyer; two sons, Caleb Freyer and Joseph James (Emily); one daughter, Deborah Robertson (Jacob); two grandsons, Joseph James, III and Sylas Robertson; granddaughters, Sydney Robertson and Shiloh Robertson; one sister, Sharon Freyer; and the mother of Caleb Freyer, Denise Forehand.

The Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, July 31, 2026, at Maryville Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home, 2200 S. Fraser St, Georgetown, SC.

Private Burial at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Ducks Unlimited in Chuck's honor.
