Pawleys Island:
Charles William "Billy" Moore, 66, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the Medical University of SC Hospital in Charleston.
Mr. Moore was born in Plantersville on January 16, 1945, a son of the late Edward Herman Moore and Ella Weaz Small Moore. He grew up in Plantersville and worked for a time with Ryan Walsh Stevedoring Company, Inc. Mr. Moore later owned and operated 3-Way Exxon for a number of years and was also a mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving are: two sons, Billy B. Moore of Pawleys Island and Charles William Tracy Moore of Georgetown; three sisters, Sarah M. Hazelton and Rebekah M. Griffith, both of High Point, NC, and Nita M. Howell of Georgetown; two brothers, Floyd Moore and Robert E. Moore, both of High Point, NC; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moore was predeceased by: his former wife, Barbara Thomas Moore; and a son, Kelly Wade Moore.
Memorial services will be at three o'clock on Saturday afternoon, March 12, 2011, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Leroy Collins and the Rev. Dorothy Collins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, March 11, 2011, from six until eight o'clock.
