Andrews: Charles Gary Murphy, 68, widower of Betty Hager Nichols Murphy died Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Murphy was born in Portsmouth, OH on July 12, 1948, a son of the late Arnold Halden Murphy and Opal Thelma Logan Murphy. He grew up in Portsmouth and graduated Portsmouth High School. Mr. Murphy lived most of his life in Central Ohio and served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. Mr. Murphy moved to Andrews approximately four years ago and was a great friend willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing and was a master handyman. Surviving are: two sons, Jason Murphy ( Melissa) of Powell, OH and Joseph Murphy of Sahuarita, AZ; a step-daughter, Cathi Nichols; seven grandchildren, Conner, Kaiden, Bryce, Reaghan, Morgan, Michael and Nathan; a brother, Donavon Murphy; and a sister, Bonnie Miller. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Murphy was preceded by: a brother, Terry and a sister, Jeannie. Arrangements will be private.
