Charles William Snyder, Jr., "Bill", son of the late Florence Snyder Hincy and Charles William Snyder, Sr., passed away at McLeod Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina, on June 6, 2025.

Bill was raised in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Miami Edison High School in Miami, Florida in 1966. He received his BA degree in Political Science and MPA in Public Administration from West Virginia University.

Bill was definitely an eclectic jack of all trades. After completing his Masters in Public Administration, he began working for the state of West Virginia in Charleston, West Virginia. He worked his way up to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration under former governors Arch Moore and Jay Rockefeller. One of the highlights of his career in state government was working with former Governor Rockefeller's wife, Sharon, on the renovation of the historic Holly Grove Mansion at the state capitol complex. He and his wife, Pam, then relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he managed the Continental Motor Inn for seven years. He then opened Pawleys Office Supply catering to the office needs of the Pawleys Island area. His final job was as property manager for KA Diehl Company.

Bill was a former member of Pawleys Island Rotary, Holy Cross Faith Memorial, the Hagley HeMen Society, and Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Bill is survived by his wife, Pam, of Pawleys Island; son, Chad Snyder (Marion); daughter, Elizabeth Snyder Pitcher (Larson); brother, Michael Snyder (Terri); sister Carolyn Snyder Lemmon (Bill); and grandchildren Will, Graham, Rockne, Beckett, Knox, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church in Pawleys Island, 113 Baskervill Drive. Burial will be at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont, West Virginia.

The Downtown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home and Crematory, 843-546-4184, is serving the Snyder family.
