Obituary

Andrews: Charlie "Harry" Bodiford, 89, died Monday, September 13, 2010, at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Mr. Bodiford was born in Williamsburg Co. on December 15, 1920, a son of the late James Robert Bodiford and Lillie Belle Jernigan Bodiford. He grew up in Williamsburg Co. and later joined the Merchant Marines. Mr. Bodiford was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Surviving are: his wife, Vermie Bodiford of Andrews; a son, Charlie "Chuck" H. Bodiford, Jr. (Heidi) of Andrews; two daughters, Ann Payton (John) of Buford, Ga. and Charlene Hayes (Leigh) of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kelly Oglesby (Bob) of Buford, Ga., Kim Smith (Ted) of Andrews and Kristen Foy (Rob) of Duncan; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline Oglesby, Thomas Oglesby, Abby Smith and Victoria Smith. Funeral services will be at eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, September 15, 2010, at Pine Crest Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jack Mobley and the Rev. Jeff Cockrell.
