Georgetown: Cherrie James Tyner, 60, died Sunday, February 29, 2004, at her residence. Mrs. Tyner was born in Hartsville, March 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Henry and Maude James of Hartsville. She was a 1965 graduate of Winthrop College. Mrs. Tyner received a Master of Education from the University of South Carolina. She was retired from the Georgetown County School System, where she shared her love of music for 30 years. She is survived by: her husband of 31 years, Jack Tyner of Georgetown; two sons, Jason Tyner of Georgetown and Bruce Tyner of New Orleans, La.; a sister, Ruth Adams of Kingstree; and a brother, John Ronald James of Hartsville. Memorial services will be four o'clock Tuesday afternoon, March 2, 2004, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Gary B. Adams.
