Georgetown: Christine Anne Thomas, 91, of Georgetown passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021, at National Healthcare Center in Garden City, SC. Christine was born in Georgetown, June 7 1930 to Catherine and Escie Thomas. A lifelong Catholic, Christine lived a life of service. First as a nun and later in a career of teaching and social work. Her passion was always to help others. In the early 1980's she was a clinical counselor at the Waccamaw Center for Mental Health and was one of the first coordinators of Citizens Against Spouse Abuse in Horry and Georgetown Counties. She also trained hospice volunteers and was a frequent speaker about women and stress. Predeceased by her beloved siblings, Margaret Rose Khoury, Louise Joseph, and Pete Thomas, Christine is survived by many nieces and nephews. A Blessing of the Ashes will be held on Thursday, August 26. 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church.
