Andrews:
Clayton Newberry, 81, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 31, 2020, at Prince George Healthcare Center.
Clayton was born in Andrews on October 22, 1938, and lived until his health declined, his entire life in the Andrews community. He was such an icon for Andrews and will always be remembered. Clayton was known by everyone. Those who go back to the Sam's Drive Inn curbside era, know how he would come and give you his pad for you to write your order. His greatest love was the Andrews Fire Station, where he would ride the fire truck on every fire. Often some of the fireman didn't know he was on the truck, until arriving at the fire, even as far as Georgetown. He will be missed, especially by his closest and dearest friends, Bobby and Janet Barrineau who were so kind and gracious to care for him for so many years. The Andrews Community would like to thank Bobby and Janet for their dedication.
Memorial Services will be held in Andrews at a later date, due to the current situation.
Contributions may be made in Claytons honor to: The Andrews Fire Department, 101 N Morgan Ave, Andrews, SC 29510
