Andrews:
Clevie Wesley Ward, 82, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Ward was born in Andrews on October 14, 1934 a son of the late John Wesley Ward and Donnie Hartley Ward. He attended Williamsburg High School. Clevie and Roberta celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage and was blessed with three wonderful children. Mr. Ward worked at Oneita Industries as a sewing machine mechanic and retired after forty two years of employment. He was a member of The Christian Fortress and loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife, Roberta Elizabeth Bunch Ward of Andrews; two sons, Edward W. Ward of Mt. Pleasant and Bruce A. Ward (Sharon, whom he loved as a daughter) of Andrews; a daughter, Sandra Ward (Wes) of Irmo; two grandchildren, Travis Ward (Candice) of Andrews and Wesley Chastie (Terra) of Chapin; and one great-grandson, Nicholas A. Ward.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ward was predeceased by a grandson, Chad Ward.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2017, at two o'clock in The Christian Fortress. Officiating will be the Rev. Geraldine Bednigo. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, September 1, 2017 at The Christian Fortress from six until eight o'clock.
