Obituary

Georgetown: Cynthia Hope Callaway Moore, 59, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Moore was born in Conway on January 15, 1949, a daughter of Cynthia Kelley Callaway and the late James Martin Callaway. She grew up in Myrtle Beach and was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and Winthrop University. Mrs. Moore worked as an administrative assistant and accountant for a number of years and retired as a Rostered Associate in Ministry at St. Phillips Lutheran Church in Myrtle Beach. After retirement she worked at SOS Health Care, Inc. in Myrtle Beach for a time. Mrs. Moore was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Georgetown. Surviving are: her devoted husband of thirty-two years, Walter Eugene "Bill" Moore of Georgetown, who was the love of her life, the light of her world, and her "Turkey"; her mother of Georgetown with whom she lovingly shared a home and devotedly card for; four precious puppies, Kelley, Kricket, Me-Tu, and Khan; three sisters, Kathy Pressley and her husband David of Churchland, N. C., Nancy Morgan and her husband Steve of Jekyll Island, Ga., and Jan Callaway of Marion; a brother, Oliver C. "O.C." Callaway and his wife Jessica of Hemingway; nephews and nieces, Bud Forgason, Charity Swails, Carey Todd, Rachel Todd, Brandon Pressley, Faith Callaway, and Faith Glaze Callaway; great-nephews and great-niece, Jaden Forgason, Junah Shore, Seth Todd, Kyli Todd, and her "Logan-Pogan" Swails. Cindy had a faith in God and a loving heart that reached out to everyone. Wherever she was, she was compelled to get to know people and give something of herself to them. She was involved with the youth and loved to nurture them and see them grown into the best they could be. With a smile that brightened the room, she had a way of making you feel loved and special because, to her, you were loved and special. She was a take-charge, take-care-of-business person who never let her disabilities slow her down. She loved unconditionally and had an uncanny way of making each of us feel like we were her favorite. She is our hero, our inspiration, and our example. We will miss her…and we will grieve…but we will go on, because we know that, if Cindy was here, she would hug us and comfort us and then, in her matter-of-fact way, say, "Now suck it up and get on with it!" Memorial services will be four o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2008, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Pawleys Island. Officiating will be Pastor Nedra Merriman and Pastor Bill Wingard.
