Daniel Alexander Bratcher, 92, widower of Ruby Mae Ward Bratcher and Lula Elizabeth Lambert Bratcher, passed away Sunday, October 07, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Bratcher was born February 16, 1926, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Alexander Washington Bratcher and Ester Jane Ward Bratcher. He grew up in Williamsburg County and attended Pleasant Hill High School. Mr. Bratcher served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for International Paper Company for over thirty-four years as a chemist and retired in 1983. Mr. Bratcher was a member of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church, the American Legion, Pine Tree and Quarter Century Clubs, I.P.C. men's fellowship, Cooper Hunting Club, the Fifty Plus Club, Gospel Filling Station, former president of the L.T.C. Softball League Center, and former president of the Lambert Town Community Center. Mr. Bratcher was known as "The Mayor of Lambert Town" and was nick named as "Handy Man".
In addition to his parents and wives, Mr. Bratcher is predeceased by: two sons, Billy Daniel Bratcher, Charles Wendell Bratcher, and two grandsons, David Farrell, Jr. and Charles Alexander; two daughters-in-law, Klata Kennedy Bratcher and Tina McKenzie Bratcher.
Surviving are: seven children, David Farrell Bratcher, Sr, (Mary), Sylvia Jane Bratcher, George Alexander Bratcher (Kay), Gene Carlyle Bratcher, Grailand Wayne Bratcher (Nancy), Charles Daniel Bratcher, Sara Bratcher Thacker (Michael); Thirteen grandchildren, Myra Melissa Anderson (Marty), Michael Bret Thacker (Heather), Hannah Michelle Thacker, Ryan Michael Thacker, Macy Bratcher Davis (Cody), Matthew Daniel Bratcher, Shaun Bratcher (Angel), James Daniel Bratcher, Gene Carlyle Bratcher, Jr. , Amanda Marie Bratcher (Robbie) Grailand "B.J." Wayne Bratcher, II (Christina), Tammy Bratcher, and Chris Snow; seventeen great grandchildren, Frannie Bratcher Smith (Brandon), Constance Bratcher Hanna (David), Zachary Tyler Forrester (Shelby), Joshua Taylor Forrester, Jeremy Trent Forrester, Annalee Claire Davis, Dylan Bratcher, Remington Kane Ellington, Grace Bratcher, Grailand Bratcher III, Emily Bratcher, Destiny Bullock, Devin Bullock, Elijah Bullock, Thomas Grainger, Amber Grainger and Sheila Grainger; seven great-great grandchildren, Charleigh Grace Smith, Bailey Madyson Smith, Reid Farrell Hanna, David Sidney Hanna, Roxy Tyler Forrester, Jaxson Reed Forrester, Amelia Grainger; six special nieces, Rebecca Anna Bratcher, Annette Brandon, Lisa Wrenn, Patricia Elliott, Julie Terry and Linda Terry; a very special friend, Nell Hanna; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be twelve o'clock Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Chris Browder. Burial will follow in Holmes Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, October 8, 2018, at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church from six until eight.
