David Martinez, 43, was called home on Thursday January 14, 2021. Born on December 7, 1977 in Mt Sinai hospital in New York, NY. He was a son of Guillermo Martinez and Maria Ortiz. David was an entrepreneur, who loved creating with his hands whether it was cooking or building something. Above all, he was family oriented, devoted husband, loving father and son. He enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was an avid music fan and enjoyed dancing. He loved to put a smile on people's faces. David was known for always seeing the best in everyone and always found something nice to say about them. He was also known for his famous phrase "an what not"
Survivors include his mother Maria Martinez of New Windsor, New York; his wife, who he referred to as the love of his life, April Cooper Martinez, two sons whom he adored, Elias and Enrique Martinez of Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Ester Figueroa, Noemi Martinez, Ruth Martinez and Irene Martinez. One Brother, Heriberto Martinez; three nephews, Manuel Rivera, Abraham Tosado, David Tosado; three nieces, Erica Suliveres (he considered Erica more of his sister) Katarina Pabon, Krystalee Tosado ; two lifelong friends who he considered brothers, Manny & Hector and numerous aunts, uncles and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Irene Ortiz, his father Guillermo Martinez, and brother Lucho Martinez.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 at Mayer Funeral Home with memorial services following from 4 to 6 pm.
