Georgetown: David Franklin Pope, 82, died Wednesday, June 08, 2016, at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Mr. Pope was born in Hemingway on December 4, 1933, a son of the late Woodrow R. Pope and Mary Ellen Miller Pope. He lived in Georgetown County all of his life and was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Pope was of the Freewill Baptist faith and the widower of the late Mae Prosser Pope. His favorite pastime was fishing. Survivors include: a sister, Alberta Pope Creel of Johnsonville, two sisters-in-law, Nina Pope of Hemingway and Barbara Kivett of Hamlett, N. C.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
