Georgetown:
Deborah Blake Pierce, 56, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Pierce was born in Georgetown on July 24, 1952, a daughter of the late James Lester Blake and Myrtle Thomas Blake. She grew up in the Sampit community of Georgetown Co. and was a graduate of Andrews High School. Mrs. Pierce worked with the Georgetown Co. School District for a number of years and retired in 2002. She was a Notary Public. Mrs. Pierce was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and also attended Gourdine's Chapel. She also served as pianist at several area churches.
Mrs. Pierce was predeceased by: a brother, B. Ray Blake.
Surviving are: her husband, Billy Pierce of Georgetown; a son, Ryan (April) Pierce of Georgetown; a daughter, Ashley (Derrick) Alford of Andrews; three brothers, James Blake, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Thomas Blake of Columbia, and Donnie Blake of Georgetown; four sisters, Betty Ann Wiggins, Jeannette Wilson, and Bertie Maude Newton, all of Georgetown, and Evelyn Newton of Andrews; and four grandchildren, Makayla, Melody, Leia, and Luke Pierce.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Saturday morning, February 7, 2009, at Sts. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Thad Jacobs, Rev. Robert Eubanks, and Rev. Themos Cribb. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
