McClellanville:
Della Millis Capps, 75, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Capps was born in Sneads Ferry, N. C. on December 8, 1930, a daughter of the late Dave Millis and Lilah Cockrell Millis. She grew up and lived in Sneads Ferry until moving to McClellanville in 1967. Mrs. Capps and her late husband, William Nobel Capps, were commercial fishermen for fish, clams, oysters, and shrimp for a number of years.
Surviving are: two sons, William R. Capps of Jacksonville, Fla. and Avon N. Capps of McClellanville; two daughters, Lettie M. Midgitt of Sneads Ferry and Penny C. Varner of Santee; a brother, Mance Millis of Sneads Ferry; a sister, Estell M. Revell of Sneads Ferry; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be eleven o'clock Monday morning, April 17, 2006, at New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Walter G. Cook.
