Georgetown: Deryl Don Young, 71, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital. Mr. Young was born in the Yauhannah Community of Georgetown County on January 23, 1945, a son of the late Henry Lewis Young, Sr. and Hazel West Young. He graduated from Winyah High School and Clemson University where he was a member of the Sign Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Mr. Young was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a real estate salesman and appraiser for residential real estate and also did appraisals for the Veterans Administration. Mr. Young had a great love for the outdoors, where he spent time with his special four legged friend "Lighter'd Knot". Surviving are: four brothers, Hank Young (Ramona), and Joe Young (Linda) both of Georgetown; Lamar Young (Sally) of Atlanta , GA, and Larry Young (Suzanne) of N. Litchfield Beach; a sister, Jacquolene Y. Gould of Los Angeles, CA; twenty-two nieces and nephews; and forty-six great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Young is predeceased by: a brother, Lloyd Michael Young, Sr. and a sister, Donna Y. Thompson. Funeral Services will be held at two o'clock on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Joe Young. Burial will follow in the Topsaw Plantation Cemetery.
